International collaboration

As a national administrator of water level and tidal data it is important for the Norwegian Mapping Authority to deliver water level data to international organisations and institutions. The Norwegian Mapping Authority Hydrographic Service have for years worked with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commision (IOC), and deliver water level data to the programme Global Sea Level Observing System (GLOSS), which is coordinated by the IOC.

Monthly and annually averages from the Norwegian Mapping Authority Hydrographic Services 24 tide gauges, are sent to the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL) measuring network.
